A decade ago the original idea was simple,
Global Underground would take DJs to play at a
party in one of the most unusual exotic clubbing
locations on earth, a 2xCD set would capture the
night, the atmosphere and the music, and the
DJs would select the tracks themselves.
The series began with Tony de Vit “Tel Aviv”, Israel
in 1996; since then the biggest DJs in the world
have appeared on those distinctive covers
– Sasha, John Digweed, Nick Warren, Dave
Seaman, Darren Emerson, Danny Tenaglia, Deep
Dish. Along the way for the thousands who buy
the albums, go to the parties and get into fierce
debates on the notorious messageboard, Global
Underground has become more than just a
record label, it’s a way of life.
